On September 4, 2018, the City Council approved the Avalon Monrovia Specific Plan and Mixed-Use Development project. Located right adjacent to Old Town, the project is a mixed-use development featuring 154 residential units and 3,500 square feet of ground-floor retail, including 13 affordable housing units. Construction is expected to begin in late 2019.
